What we offer
One of the top priorities of CPCNA is to support its Members in their professional growth. Throughout the year, we will offer educational resources and opportunities based on the Pan-Canadian Palliative Care Competencies for Nurses (to be released in early 2021) and the Hospice and Palliative Care Competencies from CNA.
Attending these events can support hours for certification in Hospice and Palliative Care with CNA, and may also be eligible to support your regulatory Continuing Competency activities (check with your local practice regulator).
Select events are free for Members and at a minimal cost for Non-members.
Members of CPCNA have free access to recordings of previous webinars. Recordings remain available for a minimum of 90 days.
We also aim to support nurses seeking initial or renewal of certification in hospice palliative care nursing through the Canadian Nurses Association. These series are in the development phase. More information should be available in the coming months. Stay tuned!

As part of CPCNA’s strategic aim #2 – Education and Professional Development, we have updated our education offering submission form! This online form allows those who wish to share about ongoing palliative initiatives, palliative care education, or anything else palliative care related to fill in their information easily and accessibly.
To make our educational offerings more accessible for members and speakers alike, we have introduced various presentation and knowledge sharing options:
1) Live sessions about specific topics related to palliative care, hosted at a scheduled date and time (30-60 minutes in length)
2) Recorded sessions about specific topics related to palliative care, uploaded to the CPCNA website (30-40 minutes in length)
3) Recorded micro-sessions about ongoing initiatives, research, and organizational improvements, uploaded to the CPCNA website (5-20 minutes in length)
4) Text-based "spotlights” on ongoing initiatives, research, and organizational improvements in palliative care (text uploaded to website and shared via monthly newsletter, up to 500 words)
By offering variety in our education sessions, we are aiming to provide more accessible and stimulating educational offerings while giving the palliative care community more opportunities to engage and learn!
