Marianne Sofronas

Marianne Sofronas

Marianne Sofronas is a nurse, ethicist, and anthropologist. She is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the University of Ottawa, where her research and teaching focus on nursing care for serious illness, therapeutic communication, and how nurses enact morally significant practice. Marianne practiced in neuro-intensive care and in clinical ethics, with a keen interest in palliative and end-of-life care. She is an Academic Mentor with the Palliative Care and Nursing Ethics Hub at the Centre for Research on Health and Nursing, University of Ottawa, an Affiliate Investigator at the Elizabeth Bruyere Hospital, and an Academic Partner with the Champlain Centre for Health Care Ethics.
