A FREE TALK in honour of all of our devoted nurses who deliver Hospice and Palliative Care offered to any nurse who wishes to register!

A motivation for becoming a nurse is to “make a difference” in the lives of patients. This happens through the relationships that nurses form with their patients, which is a fundamental dimension of palliative care philosophy. But while the desire to make a difference is the impetus that attracts students to the profession, it can also fill a well that nurses tap into to find ongoing meaning in their work. When this meaning is lost, nurses and patients suffer. This presentation will introduce and explore connections between professional nursing identity, humanistic ideals, and meaning in work from a palliative care perspective.
